Chocolate Breakfast smoothie

This smoothie is perfect for when you fancy something sweet but want to maintain your energy levels and avoid blood glucose spikes.

Chocolate smoothie

Grabbing a smoothie for breakfast can be a quick and easy way to fill your tank before starting your day. With this recipe I've made sure that you're getting a good amount of protein and healthy fats along with some complex carbs to help keep you energised through the morning and avoid any sugar spikes.



Protein Breakfast Smoothie


Ingredients


  • 1 cup semi-skimmed milk (or an alternative)

  • 1/3 cup Greek yogurt

  • 2 teaspoons cocoa powder

  • 1 medjool date

  • 1/4 cup oats

  • 1/2 frozen banana

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 Handful spinach

  • 1 Tbsp ground flaxseed

Method


  1. Put all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth

You could make this the night before and keep it in the fridge ready for the next morning.
